Looks like a bumper fruit year for us at Hilltop Farm.One of our newer varieties of plum is now producing ripe fruit in mid July; we think it must be very unusual. Our eight apple varieties have shown little June drop this year. Walnuts and Hazel nuts are also heavily laden but we will need to pick them early if we are to take our fair share from the increasing numbers of Grey Squirrels. A family of Green Woodpeckers has fledged successfully near the barn and it is now very vocal and highly visible all through the day.
